Jerusalén (Israel), lunes 21 de octubre de 2024 (Lasvocesdelpueblo).- El primer ministro de israel, Bibi (Benjamín Netanyahu) celebra hoy sus 75 años y ha tenido que contestar a los varios miles de felicitaciones que han llegado de todas partes del planeta tierra, y como no podría ser de otra manera, de la Comunidad judía y de la Tierra Santa. «Gracias a todos los que me enviaron felicitaciones de cumpleaños. Me alegraron el corazón. En esta ocasión, me gustaría compartir con ustedes las palabras que dijo mi difunto padre, el profesor Benzion Netanyahu, en su centenario hace 14 años.
Siguen siendo ciertas hoy en día:
Me conmueve mucho que se hayan reunido para expresarme sus buenos deseos en mi cumpleaños. Han dicho muchas cosas hermosas que me han conmovido el corazón. Pero como el tiempo es escaso, limitaré mis comentarios a un comentario general:
La existencia del pueblo judío se pone en tela de juicio por las amenazas de aniquilación que nuestros enemigos declaran abiertamente.
Por un lado, Irán promete que pronto el sionismo será destruido.
Por otro lado, el pueblo de Israel está mostrando al mundo cómo debe comportarse una nación cuando se enfrenta a una amenaza existencial: mirar fijamente el peligro, considerar con calma lo que hay que hacer y lo que se puede hacer, y estar listo para entrar en la lucha cuando las posibilidades de éxito sean razonables.
Una postura firme exige una fuerza interior enorme. El pueblo de Israel demuestra hoy que tiene esa fuerza, y por eso estoy seguro de que nuestro pueblo hará retroceder este peligro. Con esta convicción termino mis observaciones».

On this occasion, I would like to share with you the words my late father, Professor Benzion Netanyahu, said on his 100th birthday 14 years ago.
They are still true today:
I am much moved by the fact that you have gathered to express your well wishes on my birthday. You have said many fine things that stirred my heart. But since time is short, I will limit my remarks to one general comment:
The existence of the Jewish people is put into question by the threats to annihilate us which are openly declared by our enemies.
On the one side, Iran vows that soon Zionism will be destroyed.
On the other, the people of Israel are showing the world how a nation should behave when faced with an existential threat: stare unflinchingly at the danger, calmly consider what needs to be done and what can be done, and be ready to enter the fray when the chances of success are reasonable.
A powerful stance requires tremendous inner strength. The people of Israel show today that they have such strength, and this leads to my certain belief that our people will roll back this danger to its existence. With the expression of this belief, I end my remarks»
